Mortgage Advisor

Job Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Lending, the Mortgage Advisor will play a key role within the Lending Team, managing the full mortgage lifecycle while delivering an exceptional member experience.
This role will suit a candidate who combines strong mortgage expertise with a proactive, member-focused approach and the ability to contribute strategically to the growth of the mortgage portfolio.
Key Responsibilities: This list is not exhaustive and may change based on organisational needs
- Guide members seamlessly from the initial fact-find and application right through to mortgage completion, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.
- Conduct detailed credit assessments and prepare strong recommendations on mortgage applications prior to Credit Committee submission.
- Package and present mortgage applications for Credit Committee review and approval ensuring high approval success rates.
- Pipeline Management: Deliver on mortgage completion and drawdown targets by optimising the member experience and utilising best-in-class pipeline management activities.
- Support the continuous improvement of mortgage processes, policies, and procedures.
- Provide a high standard of service to members across multiple channels (in-person, phone, online)
- Support leadership activities within the Lending Department, including training and mentoring colleagues.
- Identify, develop, and optimise Mortgage Protection, Life, Home, Motor and Travel insurance business opportunities through internal referrals to our Insurance Partner, Peopl. Insurance.
- Work with the Head or Lending to develop and deliver a Mortgage Action Plan
- Build local market awareness and generate mortgage leads in collaboration with Business Development and ongoing Marketing campaigns.
- Develop strong relationships with local auctioneers, solicitors, and developers.
- Support Personal Lending applications as required.
- Complete associated administrative and organisational duties
The successful candidate should have the following:
- Full QFA qualification (essential)
- A full understanding of the regulatory environment for mortgages in Ireland ensuring full adherence to internal policies and industry compliance standards.
- Proven experience in end-to-end mortgage new business, with a track record of delivering on application-to-conversion targets. Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- High level of customer service and member-focused approach. Proven experience supporting members in both proactive and reactive environments using telephone or remote communication methods.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Problem solving & Decision making: analyses & deals with issues, seeks support as required and takes decisions.
- Drive for results, works efficiently to achieve/exceed performance targets.
- Confident IT and presentation skills
- A collaborative professional who works well as part of a dedicated lending team to ensure collective success.
- Previous experience within a Credit Union or financial services organisation.
